Since implementing its body-worn camera program bureau-wide in 2024, the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) has released footage from several incidents, including officer-involved shootings and in-custody deaths. Following the most recent release of body-worn camera footage and to promote transparency with the community, the Committee seeks a better understanding of how PPB decides when and how footage is released; what best practices other cities follow; and what the community expects for transparency and information sharing.
