The City of Portland ordains.Section 1. The Council finds:Code Section 3.02.010.C.1 provides that Council will hold regular meetings at least two times per month.Code Section 3.02.010.C.1 further provides that the Council may adopt a schedule for regular meetings by ordinance. If Council does not adopt a schedule, the Council will meet on specific days and times set forth in code.The Council will adopt a FY 2025-26 budget calendar by resolution. On October 15, 2003, the City Council adopted Resolution 36173, which directed the City Budget Office (previously the Financial Planning Division of OMF) to prepare a Budget Calendar for adoption by Council resolution annually. In accordance with Code Section 3.02.010.C.1, an ordinance is required to implement the proposed Budget Calendar for FY 2025-26. The Council declares an emergency exists because the City must implement and notify the public of the revised regular meeting schedule in a timely manner, therefore this Ordinance will be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the Council.
