WHEREAS, on December 4, 2024, the prior City Council adopted a Resolution under Council agenda item 1047 (Resolution 37689) that authorized the City Attorney’s office to commence an action for which there is a good faith basis to assert legal claims in any competent tribunal to protect labor harmony and enforce the agreement between the City and the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), as well as alleging other claims to resolve unfair labor practices by AFSCME as warranted, and to pursue to conclusion in any higher tribunal and to make any stipulation, agreement, or admission as in their judgment may be in the best interest of the City; andWHEREAS, the City Attorney’s Office has not yet filed an unfair labor practice complaint under the above authorization from the prior City Council; and WHEREAS, the current City Council believes that the interests of labor harmony are better met by not filing the previously authorized unfair labor practice complaint. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the prior authorization granted on December 4, 2024, from the previous City Council in agenda item 1047 (Resolution 37689) is hereby withdrawn.
